  • I can hook this up to the back of my LG wireless media link and wirelessly stream video from the RPi to my 55in tv on the fireplace.

    currently i am using a desktop but this one makes it more slick and cool.

  • Hey The Ben Heck Crew! Love the show. Thank you element14 organizers for this opportunity!

     

    I teach college electronics and love scouting ideas for project work and cool stuff my students might like too. I'd love to try out a few projects with the RPi and see what it's all about! I know it can do so much more, but I think a simple idea is a good way to start. Here's my project outline:

    Let me introduce you to D.R.I.P. (Drainage Regulation by Inner Pi). He's a waterbot and he's going to take care of my plants when I'm not home. One day, I'll hook him up to a windmill so he doesn't need to be plugged in, but in the meantime, this summer he's going to help me grow delicious raspberries.

  • I would actually love to win this for me and my daughter to build a home media center for her. she's really getting into electronics and tech and she would love to learn more but I haven't been able to spend money on projects being a single dad of 3 kids

  • There is a lot a Raspberry Pi can do and with wolfram preloaded, the Rpi is great tool for learning. I have given away my old RPis recently to students as an incentive for ideas and the implementation of the same.

    If i get one of these, I would put it up for grabs to my undergrad class along with an old monitor I have to use and setup for learning and making projects based on python and wolfram. Its an experiment to see what fresh engineering students will come up with when given such an opportunity.

  • We're turning off our DirecTV for the summer.  I would set this up as the only way the kids could watch shows for the summer.  Hopefully they would also use it to learn something about computers and making.
