Just to clarify - if you accept the challenge because you think you can Hack Like Heck - you're being asked to build a portable gaming device (in two weeks time).

Why?  Because, as Felix says at https://youtu.be/x0EGnydxxf4?t=15  - the Community asked for a portable version of the SNES Mini.

But Ben didn't like that idea, as he explains here:  https://youtu.be/x0EGnydxxf4?t=22

So he ended up building the Pi No HDMI MAME as featured in these episodes :

Episode 322: Rasp Pi No HDMI - Portable MAME Part 1

Episode 328: Rasp Pi No HDMI - Portable MAME Part 2

Building portable gaming consoles is fun! Here are a few photos of my first retropie zero project back when the Pi Zero was released. I'm currently working on a few interesting gaming console builds. …

I was wondering how long the video has to be? I'm guessing around 15-20 minutes based on TBHS videos. I presume that to be correct?

I've also been wondering about this. I think 20 mins is too long - typically there is advertising and branded intros and outros added as well, so probably the 15 min mark sounds right. I think I watched a video recently that pointed out videos around the 18 minute mark did the best on youtube, which would happen once you add in the sponsors branded segments to your own content.

I am wondering though if I might end up being better trying to make a two parter as well. I think it's probably best to just focus on a single "episode" for the contest, and allow for extended versions after the contest has finished. Would be great to have some "official" input on this though! image

Hi guys - thanks for the question

The total length of the video should be between 12-18 minutes.  We've just added all the video specifications here.

please continue to comment if you have additional questions or things need clarification.  We'll do our best to answer and update the documents as soon as we invent what the answer should be.
