Finally, the BeagleBoneRegistered AI has been released and Clem is very excited to take it for a spin!  He goes beyond his comfort zone and explore PRU (programmable real-time units), OPENCV (Image recognition) and much more on his journey to build an animatronic Terminator inspired skull. It even cites badly impersonated Arnold Schwarzenegger quotes when it detects a human face. This might not be the beginning of Skynet, but it may lead you to build your own AI powered projects!

I've been noticing a few Terminator projects recently, it is almost as if there's a new film out

tariq.ahmad , cstanton , Wow, this seems to be a good opportunity to get our hands on the BB AI and the MayerMakes' Add-On Cape. Also, this terminator skull by mayermakes is really a motivation to think…

Yes I followed the blocks and raised that issue on github. there is some work to be done to get back full BBIO compability, the Pinout is different for the BB Ai processor and the BBB so we either need…

Have you used a BeagleBone product before?

I wanted to participate in the vision thing contest but was late to apply for the BeagleBone AI board. I would like to use the board for making a self driving car. With the help of available models and computer vision I would like to create a self driving car like jetbot. That uses computer vision to drive autonomously (small scale). I have also read in the community threads that Beaglebone AI runs pretty hot so the Mayermakes' cooler add-on cape will be definitely helpful.

Along with that I will also try to add a system that can automatically detect plant diseases in fields. It can help farmers in smart monitoring.

Beaglebone AI is preferred over RPi especially because of its additional dedicated vision cores and PRUs. Thus, it will really help me to make a good project and Raspberry pi is not performing well at just 1-2fps.

I worked with a lot of startups and in my oppinion a key indicator for the failing of their projects was topdown design. they mostly focus on UX/UI and build impressive click dummys for investors and later on it turns iout the technical base for the idea is flawed.
I always do bottom up design sometimes I have an idea of a working mechanism and build the project around it.
Here is a quote from myself:

First we make it working, then we make it pretty.

and a formula one quote(i think it was Niki Lauda or maybe Senna!?!)

To finish first , you have to finish first.

yes, that is indeed a suitable application, have you seen the element14presents episode with the fortune teller from twilight zone?
Episode 365: Twilight Zone Fortune Telling Machine

The BBAI could generate individual texts based on the users facial expression.

Somebody after my own heart. I'm a great one for not having a plan and just cramming everything in. I think I am more of a bottom up designer than top down. I remember one of my students who was very keen on top down design. Unfortunately too keen, it was a very nice design but nothing was ever made (that could have been his plan all along).

Very impressive. I like the robot as I have played with this type or very similar for several years.

This board could be a good platform for implementing an intelligent robot and its digital twin.

I already implemented the robot controller and connected it to Web of things and animating its 3D model in real time:

    It's opensource check:

The terminator looks like the Zolah fortune teller - I think that I would use it for telling the future. Zolah replies Yes I can see a Beaglebone AI coming to meet you. Facial recognition improves these responses.image
