I love to fly in simulators, especially helicopters. But, there is just not an affordable collective control that I have found, so I decided to make one for myself! I am going to build a joystick using an Arduino Micro, with a bunch of buttons for assignable controls and a high quality encoder for the collective axis.

Supplemental Content:

  • Download Code from Github

One good project, it's one project that you can modify So I changed my mind, I use now one hall sensor AS5048a with 14-bit resolution ( Best resolution and linerality ) I changed too, the place of friction…

Pictures coming, better later than never So I used on SS495a, and to have one big range of value for "only" 45° of move, I done one adapter with 2 magnets. With this I have near 0 to 5 Volts on SS495a…

good morning how are you, I hope well, my name is Francisco and I am from Gran Canaria, Spain, first of all thank you for putting this magnificent project in everyone's hands since it is not easy to achieve something like this .. I have been watching the video and I have seen that you have made the STL files available to everyone, but what I cannot find is the electronics, the connection diagram of the arduino and the MCP 23017i GPIO with its components. Where could I get the electronic connection scheme? And my other question is, do you have plans to improve the project?

    Thank you.

    Hi Francisco,

Apologies for the delay on a response, I have been busy with other projects! But I am going to try to check in on these from time to time.

I did have a schematic, and the issue was that I tried new software when I made it which did not have any way to export it other than to Eagle format. And that is not very helpful for people without Eagle! I tried to figure out a way to export, but eventually just took a screenshot and uploaded it to the GitHub page (Linked above). I will also try to paste in this message.image

Thank you! by the scheme I am looking forward to mounting it ..

A question, is there any possibility to make a list of the components but to order them by aliexpress? I think it is the cheapest place for components ..

    Thank you so much..

    Hi Kaleb,

Any chance you could upload the Eagle schematic file please? Im going down the route of getting the board printed as my soldering skills are sub-par. Thanks in advance.
