4 x Nicla Sense ME Boards Nano 33 IoT Board

The Nicla Sense ME is a tiny, low-power tool that sets a new standard for intelligent sensing solutions. With the simplicity of integration and scalability of the Arduino ecosystem, the board combines four state-of-the-art sensors from Bosch Sensortec:

  • BHI260AP motion sensor system with integrated AI
  • BMM150 magnetometer

The ATECC608A cryptochip stores the cryptographic keys in hardware, offering a very high level of security for this class of products. Portenta H7 Board

Arduino Tiny Machine Learning Kit

Portenta H7 module simultaneously runs high level code along with real time tasks. Its two asymmetric cores can simultaneously run high level code such as protocol stacks, machine learning or even interpreted languages like MicroPython or Javascript along with low-level real time tasks.

PH7's main processor is a dual core unit made of a Cortex® M7 running at 480MHz and a Cortex® M4 running at 240MHz. Two cores communicate via remote procedure call mechanism that allows calling functions on other processor seamlessly.     Let me start by first comment (In fact I am surprised that why there is not any comment yet).

    I would like to build a home automation system with one of above mentioned Arduino board and create a water level monitoring project. One I did it with Ultrasound sensor to measure the water level inside a tank and used 433MHz radio module which worked well for the time but it has several disadvantages which needs to be addressed.

    One of that is low communication range and also there is like two such modules cannot be nearby, otherwise the data from one can be received by data from another pair.!!So it lacks.

    I do not have a idea but there should be a trick to avoid this. Anyways with above mentioned board this can be done and water level can be visible on the LCD inside a living room or onto the cloud for better visualization and control.

    This is also interesting project for me because it can be done with either wired or wireless interfaces. Both has pros and cones but it has lot of potential to save the water if tank overflows and automation can be done effectively. For example adding a relay module can make the motor turn off.

    if those modules work at the same frequency, maybe adding some sensor_id field in addition to reading would do the trick? And transmit with different intervals to limit possible collisions?

    I think Sense Board would be great as a reference environment monitoring sensor - currently I have problem when two cheap humidity sensors (DHT22 and AM2320), running on my desk about 20cm apart are reporting humidity levels different by about 10%, so having proven reference (and Nicla Sense ME is advertised as having state-of-art sensors) would be invaluable for first stage of debugging - which one returns wrong value and can I do anything about it...

    And another one - it would be interesting to check power-saving capabilities of Nano 33 IoT Board vs. standard ESP module... In theory it would be no better (it includes NINA-W102 wifi-module that is ESP32 based) but who knows - maybe it is better optimized than one would think

    I have collected many of the parts I need to build a magnetic levitation system that needs an MCU like the Nano 33, but I have too large of a backlog for that project to be completed in May.

    If I win this I would build a Arduino brushed drone, it will be my first step in becoming a robotics engineer. I am currently in 10th std(CBSE).

    I think that transmit with different intervals can do the trick. I think that for bluetooth they use the same trick. For example for bluetooth advertisement they use three different frequencies in small variation to advertise a device, so that more than one devices can co-exist nearby.

    For data they use even more like 37 different channels with small freq. variations.

    I love birds. Some birds species in my locality are endangered. I want to do some ting for birds. I have a plan to make a smart bird house that will be controlled and monitored remotely. I want to monitor the temperature, humidity, sound, air quality, air pressure and gesture of a bird house for understanding the nature and comfort of the birds. I want to control the temperature and humidity inside the bird house artificially for a comfortable living. Cats, squirrels and snakes are the main predators for birds, their eggs and  young ones. Machine learning can helps to early detect of predators attack and take action accordingly to save the bird nest. I want to use vision base cat, squirrel and snake detector to close the nest/house door automatically to protect the house and birds from the predators. Sound analysis can also give important information about danger. I will use Edge Impulse for machine learning and living object detection.
