The theme this month is Spy Nerd and it comes from a suggestion from robogary. Your project can be anything dealing with security or a spy related theme. Your project can include Enet security type software projects, facial recognition on trigger, or not so serious fun stuff like spy gadgets, sibling detectors, and more.
The era of IoT was accelerated by our reliance on IoT based technology during the pandemic, and with that comes security and privacy concerns. This technology has made life easier and allowed us to develop new routines by enabling consumer gadgets, industrial machines, vehicles, and household appliances to interact with each other through embedded internet connectivity. Your project can be a new project around the concept of security or enhance an existing projects' security. Securing data is important in any number of industries and this is an opportunity to show others that you can enjoy modern conveniences without going off the grid. Security related projects you might be interested in working on include integrating hardware with new or existing IoT edge devices; securing your consumer electronics projects; innovation around safe, smart retail; building robust and secure solutions for building or home automation; designing secure factory solutions; and creating better energy and renewables solutions.
You can build your own version of commercially available spy related products or come up with your own! An AI RF Detector uses an auto-scan program to cycle through different signal detection programs to figure out if you're being spied on! These can include audio bugs, Wi-Fi cameras, IP cameras, GSM bugs, wiretaps, body wires, GPS trackers, phone taps, or other types of surveillance bugs in your room. If it finds something, it will let you know. A rabbler noise generator creates noise that replicates a crowded room’s ambient sounds, making it hard for microphones or eavesdropping ears to discern what you’re saying. Night Vision Binoculars are designed for hunting but can be adapted to other purposes as well. These low-light sights have 984 feet of infrared night vision range, 3X optical zoom, an IP56 rating for dust and water resistance, and a pair of AA batteries that will get you three hours of use in infrared night mode. On top of that, you can save the footage you capture with these things to the included 32GB flashcard and then back it up to your computer when it’s all said and done.
The grand prize for the best overall project includes an AI RF Detector (~$189), a Rabbler Noise Generator (~$365), Night Vision Binoculars (~$159), and a $200 Shopping Cart to any of our stores. Three first place winners for the runners up will receive Night Vision Binoculars plus a $100 Shopping Cart.
