My prediction for the future will be Wireless Integration into more every day objects. We are already seeing wireless tyre pressure sensing both in motor racing and in everyday vehicles. This makes sense…

Now envisioning a biohack version of this...thanks mcb1

I think that 2016 will reveal some new battery technologies that will greatly improve our energy density in a safer chemistry than is currently available.

I predict that the IoT will not be only interfacing sensors to machines but also interfacing biology(body parts, organs, or cells) to machines and sensors.

My prediction - or hope for 2016 is that more children will be interested in the 'how' of technology and more confident in the area of programming and robotics, which will impact on their mathematics and logical thinking, due to two things:

    1. the teaching of computational thinking and encouragement for creativity in thinking of students and teachers (the foundation of the new computing curriculum)
    2. the use of Micro:bit, Code bugs, Raspberry pi in schools.

Pitty that bio-hacking is potentially hazardous and already legislated against. takes all the fun out of adding glow proteins to your animal dujour!

Anyway I think that this branch can be part of biohacking in great percentage.

Another good example of how the nominations can (and probably will) be combined.

I think that there will again be a lot of competition between  smart phone companies. I think they will likely be squeezing more power into SoCs.

So many people are going to be helped by exoskeletal robotic assist systems that provide better ambulatory capabilities for those with neural degenerative diseases and neural damage from war wounds.

I in turn agree 90% with Enrico Miglino. I think we will evolve jointly on this 3 áreas (IoT, WiFi and BioHacking) making it "The Wireless IoTL" - Internet of Things and Living.

The need for secure mobile connection of living beings and things will pave the way to the IoTL.

While IoT and robotics will continue to evolve and become persuasive, driven by Moore's Law and the declining cost of computing, the increased deployment of ubiquitous networking, the enabler of open source, and the creativity of large number of people thinking of additional ways to leverage computation, I think we will also start to see advancements arising from our better understanding of DNA,proteins, and how the biological world is programmed.
