UNO R4 on the big screen

3 Jul 2023

element14 sent me an Arduino UNO R4 MINIMA, so I though I would show that it is compatible with the original UNO in addition to being way more powerful. To do this demo, I just plugged in a display shield designed for an original UNO and presto - it is an UNO running a big screen display.

The shield was designed by wolfgangfriedrich  and he wrote some cool demo software for it.

Here is the UNO R4 pinout:

I also received an Arduino UNO R4 WiFi and did a little demo here:

    Impressive demo.

The UNO R4 looks very interesting.

Thanks. It will be a rather long time before I have anything to work on / in stock again.

Here at the coast, the smoke get blown away quite quickly, but the damage is already done. Impressive picture, but those smokey clouds give my the chills at the moment.

That's a cloud, not a mountain, although I couldn't even see the cloud.

Looks interesting - I might have to pick one up when available.

Sorry to hear about the wildfire damage. We just have tons of smoke from all the crazy fires this year.

The sun is so dim, I can take a direct picture of it...

Can confirm. I used one of those screens with 2 inputs to test the next generation of the video board, which has 4 outputs.

I never wrote about that one here, only on HackADay
