Azure Sphere OS version (19.07) Update not starting

javagoza

My issue is actually solved!

I waA trying to upload a new image to my device but get:

Copying application to the device
Device would not stage app for sideload: Image not trusted by device; application development capability is required ('azsphere.exe device prep-debug') (DeviceClientException)

The problem is that my device seems to be waiting an update. I pressed reset several times, the wifi is enabled and connected but OTA doesn't start.

No news about version 19.07 in aka.ms/AzureSphereUpgradeGuidance

Looks like you forgot to put your device into debug mode before sideloading, the error is the clue. Use this command: azsphere device prep-debug

    Thanks, Mark,

But this is not the solution I prepared my device with prep-debug before trying to upload the image but it seems that when waiting for an OTA OS update you can't upload a new image.

Only resetting and waiting solved the issue. Patience is the only solution!

Our devices are included in a Device Group for OTA update configuration

    C:\Users\EAC\Documents>azsphere device show-ota-config
Retrieved the over-the-air update configuration for device with ID 'XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX':
--> Device group: 'System Software Only' with ID 'cd037ae5-27ca-4a13-9e3b-2a9d87f9d7bd'
--> SKU: '0d24af68-c1e6-4d60-ac82-8ba92e09f7e9' of type 'Chip'
    Command completed successfully in 00:00:06.9399272.

To trigger OTA update in the next 10 minutes, press the Reset button on the device. To verify that the device has received the Retail Evaluation OS:
