Sphere wont connect to WiFi

kelvic3d
kelvic3d over 5 years ago

Hello,

For the last week or so, my sphere wont connect to my Wifi. It appeared to start happening at the same time I had to have my router replaced because of a storm. The new router is almost identical to the old one and I set it up with the same SSID and key that I had on the previous one.

This is the response I get from the show-status comamnd

Configuration state : unknown
Connection state    : disconnected
Security state      : unknown
Frequency           :
Mode                :
Key management      : UNKNOWN
WPA State           : SCANNING
IP Address          :
MAC Address         : **:**:**:**:**:**   (disguised)

Command completed successfully in 00:00:01.6956155.

This what the list command outputs

Network list:

ID                  : 0
SSID                : KELVIC-Net5G
Configuration state : enabled
Connection state    : disconnected
Security state      : psk

ID                  : 1
SSID                : KELVIC-Net2.4
Configuration state : enabled
Connection state    : disconnected
Security state      : psk

Command completed successfully in 00:00:01.9069631

Any clue to whats going on? The Shpere was not physically connected during the storm and appears to work fine other then it wont connect to my WiFi. It has been logging into the contest server all week w/o the wifi connected.

I think that Mike's suggestion is a good one . . . 1. list all the networks "azsphere device wifi list" 2. Delete each one "azsphere device wifi delete -i <network ID from the list command>" 3. Add your…

Try to disable/enable the entry first. Then try to plug/unplug the USB. This is a known problem Microsoft needs to resolve. Clem PS. Did you check the password is the same? kelvic3d

If clem57's recommendation doesn't fix it, you could always try deleting them and re-adding them.  There's nothing scientific about my suggestion - just that sometimes a "clean install" fixes mystery faults.

    I think that Mike's suggestion is a good one . . .

    1.  list all the networks "azsphere device wifi list"

    2. Delete each one "azsphere device wifi delete -i <network ID from the list command>"

    3. Add your network back again "azsphere device wifi add -s <your SSID> -k <your network password>"

Can you try another network?  Maybe the hotspot on your mobile device?

If that does not work, your device may have been damaged somehow. The RMA process depends on where you got your device from.  If you need to replace the device please contact the on-line store where you got your device for an RMA.  I hope it does not come to this.

    Brian
