    Hi

First could you just tell me if your  FRDM-KL25ZFRDM-KL25Z board is a commercial(bought on element14/Farnell or a prototype version

Then could you please indicate which SDA file are you trying to use ?

After copy-paste MSD-FRDM-KL25Z_Pemicro_v107.SDA in BOOTLOADER drive via Windows Explorer, a new drive "frdm-kl25z" should appear in Windows Explorer

After copy-paste DEBUG-APPPemicrov102.SDA in BOOTLOADER drive via Windows Explorer a new peripheral"PEMicro OpenSDA Debug Driver should appear in Windows Device Manager without drive neither BOOTLOADER nor frdm-kl25z in Windows Explorer

Please keep me updated about your evaluations

    Hi

    Thanks for your response,

After the long trail i can able to enter the  FRDM-KL25ZFRDM-KL25Z driver in windows explorer that was happened by copied the particular version of the.sda file i had copied the MSD-FRDM-KL25ZPemicrov105.SDA to the BOOTLOADER drive(Because mistakenly copied the v107.SDA file to the BOOTLOADER

But again, while checking the examples like blinky programes which has given in the open sda user file is not supported. the status of the board is remain programming....., after pasted the other examples.....

What may be the wrong thing which i did,,, please suggest me to fix the problem and make the board work for an application.

    well... Got it..

default bootloader is not working in windows 8.. for windows 8 and windows 8.1 support.. use any windows 7 computer to update your bootloader.. and MSD file.. please download openSDA firmware file from here.... P&E Microcomputer Systems

after that it is working well with window 8/8.1 both and also with Keil 5.01....

Glad you got it working. Yes, the firmware's been updated recently to support Windows 8.1. There's a detailed guide for anyone else looking for how to upgrade here: OpenSDA Update Instructions for Freescale Freedom Development Boards for Windows 8.1 and Linux

    Hi Azaj,

Support for Windows 8/8.1, MacOS and Linux operating systems was added to Bootloader version 1.11 and MSD firmware version 1.14. Please make sure that your board is programmed with Bootloader version 1.11 or higher prior to attempting to update your OpenSDA board with a new firmware application.

Please follow below steps to find out what version of Bootloader your board is programmed with:

Start your board in Bootloader mode by holding down the RESET button prior to plugging it into USB port.

    1) Open the SDA_INFO.HTM file, which will contain version numbers of Bootloader as well name and version of current OpenSDA firmware you are using. If your board is not running Bootloader version 1.11 or higher you need to update Bootloader.

Important: If you are currently running Bootloader version 1.10 or earlier, you will need to find a Windows XP or Windows 7 PC to perform this update.

To update Bootloader please follow these steps:

    1. Enter bootloader mode (generally by holding down the target reset button on the OpenSDA board and plugging in the USB connection).

    2. Drag and drop the "BOOTUPDATEAPP.SDA" file to the root directory of the Bootloader "drive". (i have attached the OpenSDA Firmware which is downloaded from P&E Microcomputer Systems)

("BOOTUPDATEAPP.SDA" can be found in attached firmware location "\Pemicro_OpenSDA_Debug_MSD_Update_Apps_2014_05_22\OpenSDA_Bootloader_Update_App_v111_2013_12_11")

    3. Unplug and replug your OpenSDA board to initiate Bootloader update. Bootloader update should take less than 15 seconds (probably averages 3 seconds).

    4. Once update is complete, OpenSDA will automatically enumerate in Bootloader mode and green status LED will go on blinking with 0.5 second on/off intervals.

    5. Run the SDA_INFO.HTM file in the root directory of the Bootloader "drive".

IMPORTANT: Please do not unplug OpenSDA while Bootloader is updating.

Hope this works out for you.

    Best Regards

    Bheema Rao
