Riot Board ethernet problem

trying to ping from u-boot and cannot get it to work on the riot board. I've set the ethaddr & ipaddr variables. Using the same procedure I can ping  from a sabre-lite board. Cannot get the mii command to work on u-boot. Tried mii dump [0-4] (should be @ 4) and I get an error from u-boot. I'm trying to port QNX to this board and have every thing working except the networking. I think there may be a problem with the phy.

  • Thomas,  slightly different question...  u-Boot supporting networking or not shouldn't really affect your QNX port. u-Boot doesn't have any need for lots of the peripherals in the i.MX6 SoC so won't ever configure them, leaving that to the OS.

    Similarly, the OS should just configure the network adapter and phy itself if it is to have any hope it's been done right.

     

    So what exactly are you trying to do?  Are you simply trying to network boot the OS image, or are you relying on u-boot for something it's never going to guarantee to do for you?   In the latter case, you should really fix QNX to properly configure the hardware..

    I'm using the QNX bootloader which is working fine. I'm trying to get the networking going but I'm seeing some issues with the phy. I wanted to use u-boot just to make sure the networking is working and nothing is broken. I guess I'll try to setup a Linux box over the weekend. Thanks !
