kenunix over 5 years ago

I can SSH to 192.168.7.2 OK.

I can connect to virtual USB COM port OK.

I can connect to virtual serial COM port to JTAG OK.

Above using putty

I can Firefox to 192.168.7.2 OK

I can not ping off the BBB to an external address. I.E.  ping 23.194.117.73 ping to 192.168.7.1 OK.

Destination Gateway     Genmask     Flags Metric RefUse Iface
default     192.168.7.1 0.0.0.0     UG0  0    0 usb0
192.168.6.0 0.0.0.0     255.255.255.252 U 0  0    0 usb1
192.168.7.0 0.0.0.0     255.255.255.252 U 0  0    0 usb0

Is the Win-10 set up to forward packets? I need some help here. Thanks.

Actually what I had to do follows for Internet access. Took some trial and error. Out of the box the IP addresses 192.168.7.x are only good between two devices. Example a Laptop and the BBB. If you want…

    Hi Ken,

It's a Windows issue, not a BBB issue. Once you've got the BBB up-and-running, you can shut it down, and plug it into your home router. Then, you can access it as any normal device, and it will have access to other devices.

If USB is used in this way, then all the usual nonsense (Internet Connection Sharing, Firewall configuration etc) will need to be attempted to try to get it to work.

    Hi Ken,

Another option is a USB-WiFi adaptor - or connect via Ethernet to wherever your WiFi router is.
