Kit Overview

The Embest's LPC1766-SKLPC1766-SK is the low cost development kit for NXP LPC1766 (100MHz, the very fast Cortex-M3 processor), including the LPC1766FBD100,551LPC1766FBD100,551 evaluation board (EM-LPC1700-66EM-LPC1700-66) and Emlink for ARM JTAG adapter, so the developers can easy start to learn and test all the relevant applications on it, or evaluate your new project design through this entire system.

NXP LPC1766-SKLPC1766-SK Starter Kit contains all the necessary hardware and software and allows you to design, develop, integrate and test your applications:

  • NXP LPC1766FBD100,551LPC1766FBD100,551 (EM-LPC1700-66EM-LPC1700-66) ARMCortex-M3 Board
  • Keil MDK-ARM Development Kit, 32K evaluation edition
  • Emlink for ARM - a high speed JTAG Emulator for ARM Cortex-M3 processors
  • Plenty of example programs, all in source code (These software examples can be debugged under the popular Keil MDK (Microcontroller Development Kit) environments, making practical use of the board's peripherals.)

The ARM Cortex-M3 is a next generation core that offers system enhancements such as enhanced debug features and a higher level of support block integration. The LPC1766FBD100,551LPC1766FBD100,551 operate at CPU frequencies of up to 100 MHz. The ARM Cortex-M3 CPU incorporates a 3-stage pipeline and uses a Harvard architecture with separate local instruction and data buses as well as a third bus for peripherals. The ARM Cortex-M3 CPU also includes an internal prefetch unit that supports speculative branching.

The peripheral complement of the LPC1766FBD100,551LPC1766FBD100,551 includes up to 512 kB of flash memory, up to 64 kB of data memory, Ethernet MAC, USB Device/Host/OTG interface, 8-channel general purpose DMA controller, 4 UARTs, 2 CAN channels, 2 SSP controllers, SPI interface, 3 I2C-bus interfaces, 2-input plus 2-output I2S-bus interface, 8-channel 12-bit ADC, 10-bit DAC, motor control PWM, Quadrature Encoder interface, 4 general purpose timers, 6-output general purpose PWM, ultra-low power Real-Time Clock (RTC) with separate battery supply, and up to 70 general purpose I/O pins.

Key Applications: eMetering, Lighting, Industrial networking, Alarm systemsn, White goods and Motor control.
