| Overview
Microchip's 16-bit, PIC24 MCUs provide designers with an easy upgrade path from 8-bit PIC microcontrollers and a cost effective option to 32-bit MCUs. The broad product line includes everything from eXtreme Low Power microcontrollers to high performance digital signal controllers. Combined with hardware and free software these 16-bit products make the design of mTouch Sensing, Graphics, Connectivity, Digital Power Conversion, Smart Energy and Motor Control solutions easy to implement.
Microchip 16-bit PIC24F Low Power 16-bit MCUsThe PIC24F microcontroller family features cost effective, 16 MIPS 16-bit MCU performance and many devices with Microchip's eXtreme Low Power Technology. The PIC24F families incorporate USB-OTG, to act as a USB Device or Host, a Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) that allows precision time measurement, capacitive measurement for mTouch applications and an integrated graphics controller to implement a graphical display interface.
Key performance points include a 16 MIPS computational performance at 3.3V, XLP Technology for Sleep current at low as 20 nA; 2.0V to 3.6V operation; highly integrated peripherals for motor control, graphics displays, USB-OTG and capacitive touch implementation; one (8-bit) file select register; multiple product options and easy migration; small form factors available.
Microchip PIC24 Lite eXtreme Low Power, Low Cost, Low Pin Count
Using the PIC24F core, the PIC24 Lite microcontroller family features lowest cost and lowest power 16-bit MCUs in small pin count options. The PIC24 Lite families offer integrated EEPROM, integrated op Amps, Single and Multiple Capture Compare and PWM modules (SCCP/MCCP) for advanced PWM control, Configurable Logic Cell (CLC) for real time logic control and a Charge Time Measurement Unit (CTMU) that allows precision time measurement, capacitive measurement for mTouch applications.
Microchip 16-bit PIC24H/E High Performance 16-bit MCUs
The PIC24H/E general purpose microcontroller family features the highest 16-bit MCU performance and excellent code density. The PIC24H/E family offers CAN communications, integrated Op Amps and motor control, superior ADC performance, USB-OTG, easier graphic display interface through an 8-bit parallel master port and extensive data movement through DMA channels. PIC24H/E devices are available in small packages (down to 5x5 mm) with scalable memory (up to 536 KB) and extended (125°C) and high temperature (150°C) options.
Key performance points include an up to 60 MIPS computational performance at 3.3V, fast DMA with no cycle stealing; single cycle execution and fast interrupts (5 cycles); high-performance 12-bit ADC and CAN offering; graphics/HMI through PMP; wide range of memory/package options; automotive support (qualified for AEC-Q100) and high-temperature (150°C) options. |
