Error when using UltraLib to exporting Library to Eagle 6.5.0

Former Member

Hello,

I am using eagleCAD for the first time (normally use Target 3001).

When I download libraries using Ultra Librarian 5.3.409, and export the .bxl to Eagle compatible .src and run the script to create a new library, the following error occurs:

Line 176:

Layer 93:Pins not available!

Line 449:

Layer 93:Pins not available!

Line 772:

Layer 93:Pins not available!

What does this mean? Should I replace layer 93 with another layer (eg 101) in script file? Please find the script file for ADS8331 attached as example.

    Hello

Yes. create a user defined layer in the library and change that 93 to

the layer number you have created. When the script runs you will see the

information on that layer is the side view of the chip package and pins

dimensions. Something Eagle does not bother recording.

There is a number of other errors where it uses incorrect layers.

I evaluated Ultra Librarian a month ago and decided the free script

creator was rubbish. I spent a number of hours to see if I could decode

the bxl file as being able to do that would have been a way to get

better results for Eagle,  but had no success. The reader crashed on

occasions and was generally unpleasant to be around. The semiconductor

manufactures have got on board but the claim that the file format is not

proprietary is just plain untrue. Its an Accelerated Design proprietary

    format.

    Good luck

    Warren
