Eagle only runs DRC once?

Yes, I somehow got it into a state where drc; was only running the checks

and not showing a dialog. This happened twice yesterday, but I cannot

reproduce it today, so I'm just going to write it off as a fluke. Anyway,

I'm very happy now with drc; it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks

also for requesting the 5.11.2 beta to be back up, I see that it's there

now in the betatest area.

I am using v5.11.0. I cannot find 5.11.2 in the download area anywhere. I

Ah, interesting, so I was just typing drc and that brought up the drc

dialog. But if I add the semicolon, that actually just runs the check

without bringing anything up. If I add 'errors' to the command, I get

what I was after.

 

So, Options->Assign... pick a hotkey, and use the string 'drc;

errors'. Now I can tweak the board a little, hit the hotkey, see if I

fixed it, hit escape, tweak, and repeat. Thanks all for the help.

try "drc;Assign... pick a hotkey, and use the string 'drc; errors'. Now

I can tweak the board a little, hit the hotkey, see if I fixed it, hit

escape, tweak, and repeat. Thanks all for the help.

Ah I understand now. I was using the tool incorrectly. I was thinking that

clicking the button with the exclamation point was running a drc and

showing me any errors, but of course it just shows the errors, which I can

now see from looking at the tooltip. If however a drc has not yet been run

since the board has been opened, clicking the show errors dialog actually

does seem to run a drc for you, so I (erroneously) thought it should always

do that.

It'd be great if there was some way to get the drc to run and see the

results with a single mouse click, as it's an operation I repeat quite

often when finalizing a design, but right now I'm just happy I don't have

to keep closing and re-opening, so thanks.

had to close and re-open the board editor at least 100 times to

re-run the DRC, so I'd love to find a way to keep the board editor

open and re-run DRC within it. Thanks.

Experiment with the following

Open a new board that contains just two over lapping vias.

Run a DRC test

You should get one 'overlap' error (and maybe  a couple of drilll errors).

Move the vias apart and run the DRC again. It should run with no errors this

time .

Let us know if that works correctly
