Expanded lock feature

Group unlock is already present in Eagle.  Try this:

    group all;

    lock (CS>0 0);

The "(CS>0 0)" is script for Ctrl-Shift-RightClick at coordinates 0,0.

See the Eagle User's Manual under section 5.2.  Modifiers to coordinate

clicks are explained on page 95 of the English version, and on page 97

of the German version.

Likewise,

    lock (C>0 0);

will lock whatever group is currently selected.

This can be done without using the command line by selecting the group,

clicking the Lock icon, then Ctrl-RightClick to lock the group, or

Ctrl-Shift-RightClock to unlock it.

as a suggestion, I made a part for a M3 screw/hole and silk, so that I can

easily place these on my board, It also shows which side to fasten on, and

a keep out area,The silk has a small detail of an actual screw head. By

using a part for this you can lock it in place, it also appears on your

bill of materials!

 

I agree that board outline, holes and other NON-PART items need to be

locked .

select any number of objects and then group them, give it an optional name

, and then that group can be locked, or better yet just treat it as any

other object.

I have my outlines and drills as components, so I can lock them. A pcb as a

physical component has several advantages, like appearing in the BOM.
