Bottom layer view

Here is another suggestion I feel would help when laying out boards. While I do like the mirror command and view, it would be very helpful to be able to flip the board in layout mode to be able to see the back side without having to see everything backwards.

Thanks again,

This is a very long standing wish, yet unsupported. :-\

Obviously it's very complicated to multiply the X Coordinate of each

primitive by -1 and shift the viewport....

I can remember wanting this since the DOS age (must be around 1996....)

    See mirror-board.ulp and the new

    mirror-board-remirror-element-swap-layer.ulp.

Not an ideal solution but shows why the multiply by -1 and shift

viewport might not work, since that's exactly what it does.

We don't include it in the DRC, because the general recommendation is to

    Some suggestions for this:

      1. It is NOT necessary for the DRC to show all unrouted airwires

as SEPARATE errors. This doesn't make any sense, anyway, because

a RATSNEST might move the errors to some different location.

But showing ONE error like '21 unrouted airwires left' (or

similar) would be a real help. Clicking on this error could

         do

          - either nothing at all (because there might be billions

            of airwires), or

          - switch off all other layers and ONLY show the 'unrouted'

            layer.

      2. About 'nuisance' errors (I refer to version 5.12 now, because

we do not yet use version 6):

          - It should be possible to disable 'Layer Setup' checking.

Since EAGLE doesn't support jumper wires, the only

possibility to do this is via an inner layer abused for

routing these jumper wires. Of course, this then introduces

lots of DRC errors that need to be ignored. It would be

nice if either the 'Layer Setup' checking could be disabled,

or a selectable LAYER could be ignored by the DRC.

why does the program not alert you that not all routing is not done?

    Hi Bob,

The DRC doesn't tell you that there are unrouted airwires that's true,

however there is a means to check. If you click the Ratsnest button look

at the bottom left of your screen EAGLE will tell you the number of

airwires remaining. If you've routed everything then it will say

    "Nothing to do".

We don't include it in the DRC, because the general recommendation is to

run the DRC often and this would generate many nuisance errors.

Maybe this is something we can address in a future release of EAGLE.

In the meantime use the ratsnest command to make sure you don't have any

    airwires left.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia
