Ratio 1:1 on screen 16/9

Hi,

I have buy a acer 24'' 16/9 screen with 1600X1200 resolution and now view

ratio isn't 1/1. Did somebody know a solution with eagle to not see draw

deform ?

Thank you.

It's pretty unlikely that the screen really has 1600x1200 pixels at that

form factor... Which model (exactly) is it?

Normally, native screen resolutions of wide screen displays are

1440x900, 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 - and always the pixels are quadratic,

so there's no deformation (as long as the OS knows and uses the correct

    parameters).

Maybe you just use a bad setting of your grafics card/driver and/or

don't use the native resolution of the display? For example, my grafics

card doesn't support 1680x1050 over DVI, but only analog. Trying to use

the wide screen with DVI results in a stretched 1280x1024 display...

    First, thank for reponse

It's pretty unlikely that the screen really has 1600x1200 pixels at that

form factor... Which model (exactly) is it?

Modele is ACER  X243W version X243Ws(no numeric DVI connect, just analog

SubD VGA but only 300¤ )

Normally, native screen resolutions of wide screen displays are

1440x900, 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 - and always the pixels are quadratic,

so there's no deformation (as long as the OS knows and uses the correct

Maybe you just use a bad setting of your grafics card/driver and/or

don't use the native resolution of the display? For example, my grafics

card doesn't support 1680x1050 over DVI, but only analog. Trying to use

the wide screen with DVI results in a stretched 1280x1024 display...

Yes, résolution is 1920x1200 but I'd like use it in dual screen with my

portable and I can't have more then 1600X1200 resolution with driver graphic

    card

    DDC information of ACER is:

    - Display Name:AcerX243W

    - Max Reported resolution   1600X1200

    - Max Reported Refresh Rate 75 Hz

    I don't undestand why Max Reported resolution   1600X1200 ! and I can't

select more and 16/9 resolution manualy !

I have only 4/3 resolution (perhaps) because  it's a old INSPIRON 7500 DELL

Then exactly that is your problem. Your grafics card and your display

are not compatible. /Everything/ will be stretched.

    I don't undestand why Max Reported resolution   1600X1200 ! and I can't

    That's the point here.

And since you can't simply change your grafics card, you will have to

look for another display with a maximum of 1600x1200 pixels - or live

    with the stretched display.

(You should have looked after this /before/ buying the display... I was

also surprised that my grafics card supports wide screen only analog and

not by DVI. And after trying several setups without success, I found

    that mentioned here and there.)

Anyway, that's nothing related to EAGLE...

    Sorry,

    Tilmann

I'm use Mobility P 6.13.10.5779 pilote driver on my old DELL portable (not

problem with old dual screen 4/3 -> not change it)

I see than last release in 2002  was Mobility P 6.13.10.5795 and perhaps

    support 16/9 screen and (1920X1200)  ?  but I can't download it now

    (disappear) !!!

    I' m search !!

With text program (work, excel...) it's not problem.  It's damage then we

don't have a parameter "aspect ratio" by default to "1" in eagle program and

we can change to have screen view very correct !

I'm remember we have this in very old draw programs to adjust more with old

    analog screen ...

My real physical resolution portable is 15,4" of 1400 X 1050 pixels

    (=1.3333.. = 4/3) but I'm use (officiel) pilote definition 1280 X 1024

(=1.25 !) and view square and circle are correct ! -> exist a parameter

"aspect ratio" ?? ( pixels are square because physical screen dimension=

    30.5mm X 24.4mm = 4/3= 1.25 )

I think it's not good time to request that to Klaus image

    Sorry for my english,

    Thanks,

    Guy

I have a lovely Dell 24inch widescreen display at work that isn't

compatible with my laptop; I use it at 1600x1200, but I get a normal

4x3 screen centered horizontally rather than a wide screen (and it's

still worth the price to recover the desk space that the 21inch CRT

USED to take...)  Check if your monitor has a non-stretched mode...
