OK I try to comment or to give you my suggestion...

You can any time install your Eagle (by copying some files) to any

computer. Of course the license file (and code) you have to have on the

pendrive. Only ... don't forgot to remove the license after use of the

program !!!

I never used Eagle this way but this is possible ! Using pendrive as

temporaty storage is very bad option.

I've just read your post: about the PortableApps it could be nice, even

if I've never used USB pens like that.

About the free viewer: isn't this allowed with the freeware version? I

mean, even a bigger design, with more sheets / layers and so on, is

possible to be seen (not edited) with the freeware version. Or am I

missing something?

Yes, with the freeware version you can open any design. But it would be

nice a light viewer without any library, commands or other stuff. A

single exe which doesn't need to be installed and that open any design

in read-only mode.

It's not useful to have the complete program when you won't use a lot of

features!

Why? I use a lot of portable applications such as OpenOffice, Gimp,

Foxit Reader, etc... on my USB pen. Wherever I go I have my preferred

programs with my own settings in my hands.

And in this way there is no need to copy anything on the customer

computer. All files (and the license one too) remain into the pen.

Hmmm, how long ? For my knowledge the life time of pendrive is limited

.... I see my 3 years old pendrive is today really slower !!!!

computer not pendrive .... And I understand the reason !

I format and restore my USB pens every six months. It takes less than an

half hour and your pen is fresh again.

Furthermore, even if their life is about 3 years... why don't use them?

They are very cheap and IMHO very handy so I'm happy with them!

I didn't know the EAGLE license file is computer related. I don't

remember I sent anything to CadSoft to obtain my license.

In this case it's more difficult. Of course, I'll continue to carry my

notebook wherever I go
