exporting schematics to pictures

autodeskguest

On this site:

http://www.societyofrobots.com/member_tutorials/node/91

is an Eagle Schematic. It is interesting because the line widths are

bigger than anything I have managed to obtain with Eagle 4.9.x The

proportions are much better than I get. Anyone got good advice on how to

do exporting to pictures for both print and the web that produces good

results?

I can make the net line thicker but can't seem to make the default width

change and even then I can't see how to change the width of the lines in

the IO pins.

Thanks

Pete

    Hej Peter,

You can use the export function as image, and then with a litle tweaking you

    get a nice result.

And you can always use the print screen function of you computer, i think

    that's what he used.

    Succes

Just use the exp2image.ulp image if you just run it you get a little

window. Use the help part of it to get an example. Or in the schematic

just enter at the command line:

    run exp2image color 150 .png 91 92 94 95 96;

This will run the ulp with color output as .png file with layers 91 to

    96 except layer 93.

Many of the EAGLE exports generate some kind of bitmapped file, you must

set the resolution in dots per inch. The default value (75?) is rather

low, but bitmapped images are often large in bytes and do not always

    scale well...so

I like to use the sch2wmf ULP to generate native windows drawings which

scale perfectly and are compact. These can be pasted into documents and

saved as pdf's and are totally zoomable and scalable.

Thank you for that suggestion. And Joern for his. I didn't know about

    the WMF ULP.

However, nice though they are, neither can get the results I saw with a

much better proportioning to the line widths.

The default line width for nets is 6 mil. This fits to the line

width of the pins. You can change the default value for the net

    lines with, for example:

    SET NET_WIRE_WIDTH 0.01;

The pin width can't be changed.

Ah ... right. Thanks for that. Clearly then, the picture I saw has been

post-processed. I did manage a similar effect by exporting to WMF and

then messing in Illustrator but it all seemed a lot of work for the result.
