I have not seen any new messages lately. Is my reader broken?

 

Do messages here mirror the element-14 discussions?

    Thanks for posting my reply over to the forums Oppie, and your comment, Rachel. It looks like posts from the forums are coming IN to the Community, but posts from the Community are not going OUT. So I think something on our network is still blocked but only in one direction. We're going to keep on this until we get it right. Apologies again for the delay and inconvenience.

    Christy- does it make any difference that when I access the nntp Cadsoft NG through a newsreader, no login credentials need be entered. In order to use the Element14 forum, afik, one has to login to post? Was wondering if this might be an issue?

    It shouldn't be an issue for the sync to work. It might be an issue in terms of having your posts appear on element14 using your correct username here. Is there something else you were referring to about it "being an issue"?

     

    It does look like posts from the Community are starting to export again now, so we'll keep monitoring and hopefully that's got it.

    We found that there was a problem with the linkage. The community website runs with four separate servers, and one of those four had a connectivity problem with the news group. If a user posted a reply on community and that reply was handled by the server with issues, the link failed, and that meant the user thought they had made a reply, could see their reply on community, but that reply never made it out to the newsgroup.

     

    That meant that discussions were occasionally being orphaned, ironically including Christy's reply here to the newsgroup!

     

    We've now fixed that linkage error, so we should (hopefully) now have no problems and everything should be working fine.

    It seems there is still a problem with the link unfortunately. Any posts made over in Eagle Central appear multiple times over in this Element14 forum it seems.

    Thanks for letting us know.. we've found the source of the duplicates issue and a fix is in progress. It'll need to get tested and deployed in an upcoming release.

I'm posting this here on element14 expecting that it will not sync to the forums (and I'll go post a message to the forums directly).

     

    As soon as we have that fix deployed (as it requires a full build of our code-base) we will re-enable the sync and any messages that have been posted between the two sites should sync and the duplication issue will be resolved (has been resolved in our test environment).

     

    We apologize for the inconvenience but this should have it licked this time! Thanks for your patience.

    Hi Christy,

     

    Just in case you aren't aware, this issue seems to have cropped up again. It was double posting yesterday and then stopped working so I assumed you guy's probably deliberately took out the incoming sync (outgoing is still fine). Is there an ETA for this being fixed?

    Thanks Rachael.

     

    We had an issue with our primary server (which is the main node that handles the sync) earlier this week which I suspect caused the duplication. I wasn't aware it had stopped syncing since then. We will look into it immediately.

    It seems the link back to the E14 forums is down again. Posts made on EAGLE Central aren't getting back here at the moment. I believe they are going the other way though (or they were yesterday).
