Nope, your reader is OK.
Seems either element-14 gave up or someone there is trying a new way to
establish a working link to the news server.

Hi Guys,
I figure it's a good time to give an update. According to Newark, they
are still working on it. No ETA on when the link should be working again
so let's enjoy the quiet while it lasts.

Why does that scene from the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark" come to mind
where the guy is wheeling the ark off into that huge warehouse of boxes and
they are being told "we have our best men working on it .... our best men"

I see the link came back briefly, synced a load of really old posts but
with incorrect dates and in some cases incorrect authors and then broke

fin previously? Seriously, if Element14 can't get their "new" way to work
they should put the old way back and be leave it the hell alone.....
The peace and quiet here is nice but it would still be more useful to
actually have the link working....
Hi Rachael,
I wish it was that simple. Under the hood the entire infrastructure of
element-14 changed which is way the old way can't work now.
I'll go complain again thanks for bringing it up. I was giving it a
couple of days to see if it came back but, looks like it's time to yell
again.

Thanks for the feedback Jorge, hopefully they'll fix it soon....
You'd have thought they would have tested the migration and validated all
the external interfaces in a sandbox environment prior to rolling
everything out.... Maybe they did and just forgot about this link at that
point?
Anyway, thanks for pushing them to sort things.
Best Regards,
Rachael

I wish I had a better answer for you. It was working absolutely fine after the migration/upgrade and we did do extensive testing in a "sandbox" - so that is not what broke it. Something was changed on our network about a month ago that broke the link to CadSoft's forums and we've been scrambling to try to work out how to get it working properly again. We thought it was resolved the other day. However, as we can only do limited testing on the live environment in a 'test' forum to check the syncing before we run it live, we then were informed it updated a bunch of old posts in addition to bringing in new posts that had been queued up in the backlog since the sync was broken which it had never done previously - and nothing in the code that processes the interface has changed. Only the connection restored. We are working with our global IT and networking departments to try to restore the link back to the way it was working previously and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to you on the forums.
Sincerely,
element14 Development Team
