Error using Mirror tool.. ...

Hi All,

 

I'm using Eagle v6.6.0 standard edition, and I'm encountering an error when

I try to move a component to the backside of the board using the mirror

tool. The error is "The Standard Edition of Eagle cannot perform the

Requested operation", and "Some objects extend outside the allowed board

area".

 

My board size is 5" x 3.5", and the component easily fits on the frontside

of the board and Eagle is happy about it. The component outline itself is

3.7" x 2.8", so it seems like in the act of mirroring that Eagle perceives

the component to be outside the allowable area?

 

The component in question is for a GLCD module, and simply consists of a 20

pin header, 4 mounting holes, and the part outline.

    Is the package centred on it's origin or has the package been created with the origin on one corner? If it's been placed on a corner then mirroring it will mirror it on that corner such that part of the part would end up partially outside the board. If this is the case then you'll need to edit the part to centre it so that when it's mirrored it mirrors about its centre and sits directly below where it was on the bottom side.
