    Richard,

Does element14 have an eagle library for PIC18F*50 series microcontrollers; namely PIC18F14K50. I have a need for a component spec but can't find it in any libraries (even PIC micro). Otherwise, can you tell me where I might find one?

    Many Thanks.

    Hi,

I am sorry, currently is no such component in our libraries. I just checked the CadSoft download area, but there is no such part available (yet).

Link to the download area: http://www.cadsoft.de/cgi-bin/download.pl?page=/home/cadsoft/html_public/download.htm.de&dir=eagle/userfiles/libraries

Feel free to define it by your own. In case you never defined a library component before, take a look into the manual. Chapter 8 about component design explains all the steps of the design process.

    Best regards,

    Richard

I have a situation here that I have not encountered before...and I have made dozens of library devices/packages/symbols with no problem until now.  I made a new package (a Bluetooth module) and new symbol, but when I try to use "New" package in making the device, it seems to default to a 0805 SMD package (shows in the window), the rest of the list is grayed out, and when I try to select something, it comes back with error message of not enough pins on package (no kidding!).

No packages are shown as defined for this device and it will not allow me to place the symbol in a .sch (says no package).  I've tried deleting the .dev file and started anew, no change.

    Any suggestions?  Thanks...

    Using Linux version 5.11.0 professional.

    Hello Dean,

First, check if your library is on path there EAGLE will look for it, in Control Panel:

                    EAGLE Control Panel,

                             Options,

                                     Directories,

Libraries $EAGLEDIR\lbr;< the path you want to keep your own libraries>

Second, from schematic or layout windows, type command "use <your library name>" .

Now this name has to appear in "ADD" list.

              Good luck!

                      Lev.

you must go to the main window in Eagle

    image

in the library menu. You see all these green dots. It means that these libraries are for use. Find your library or the library you modified and click on the dot. It will turn green and you will be able to use it.

    Regards Panos

    Hello, Mr. Hammerl -

I am new to Eagle, as well as to electronics for the most part, and to Mac.  (Three strikes?)  Mac is the biggest problem - I am a Windows keyboard guy of old.  Sorry for the vent - it's quite an adjustment.

With the help of some tutorials, I created a new device (symbol/schematic & package/layout) in a new library (which Eagle placed in the Eagle directory, but I moved to LBR).   However, the library does not show up in the ADD list.  I must have done something wrong, or skipped some step.  The pins are numbered the same, the layers are correct, I give up.  Riddle me this, Batman!

Thanks very much for your help.

    Regards,

    Dean

    Hi Richard

I completed my design in Eagle and I want to export the BOM by using the DesignLink. When I run DesignLink I get the following error :

Error while accessing 'https://www.newark.com/pffind/services/SearchService': 299 Error downloading https://www.newark.com/pffind/services/SearchService - server replied: Internal Server Error Invalid Timestamp

What should I do to fix this?

    Thanks in advance Panos

use mountsmd.ulp which is part of the standard ULP´s. ThisULP will create 1 file (.mnb)  for the bottom and 1 file for the top layer (.mnt).

    hope this will help

I have a question regarding the auto router in Eagle 5.10.0.  I keep getting an out of memory error part way through the process, any idea what memory it is refering to? How do I increase this memory size?
