........., but when I try to use "New" package in making the device, it seems to default to a 0805 SMD package (shows in the window), the rest of the list is grayed out, and when I try to select something, it comes back with error message of not enough pins on package (no kidding!).

    Hi Don,

if a package has not enough pads or smds that you can connect all the pins of the symbol EAGLE does not allow to use such a package. this is the reason why the package listed are not selectable.

Could you please send me the library file by private email to support@cadsoft.de ? So I could take a look into it.

    Regards,

    Richard

With the help of some tutorials, I created a new device (symbol/schematic & package/layout) in a new library (which Eagle placed in the Eagle directory, but I moved to LBR).   However, the library does not show up in the ADD list.  I must have done something wrong, or skipped some step.  The pins are numbered the same, the layers are correct, I give up.  Riddle me this, Batman!

    Hi Dean,

I suppose the library is "not in use" yet. This means it is copied in the LBR sirectory but yoiu have to "use" it before it appears in the ADD dialogue.

Could you check the EAGLE Control Panel tree view and expand the Libraries branch there? Does your library appear there? And, if yes, I suppose there is a grey dot behind the library name. Click on it and it should turn green. now swith to the schematic and check the ADD dialogue.

    Hi Richard

I completed my design in Eagle and I want to export the BOM by using the DesignLink. When I run DesignLink I get the following error :

Error while accessing 'https://www.newark.com/pffind/services/SearchService': 299 Error downloading https://www.newark.com/pffind/services/SearchService - server replied: Internal Server Error Invalid Timestamp

What should I do to fix this?

    Hi Panos,

could you please check the date/time settings of your computer? Is it correctly set?

    Regards,

    Richard

I can't seem to get my email notifications of replys to this thread to stop.  I've checked every box with "no" on my preferences.  Anyone have a hint for me?

    Hi,

when you are reading this message scroll up this page and you will find an Actions box on the top right of this site. There is a link "Stop email notifications".  This should work.

is there any chance to find help with ulp programing ???

    Hi Jan,

go to the EAGLE help and start with User Language. This chapter contains everything about ULP. This is also available as a PDF (ulp5110_en.pdf) at

when does this message appear? Before starting the route process or later? Could you please send me the board file (*.brd) by private email so that I could check this?  support@cadsoft.de

    Hi Dinu,

there are several ULPs: With EAGLE comes mount.ulp and mountsmd.ulp

In CadSoft Download you can find for example:  mountsmd_thr.ulp  centroid_screamingcircuits_smd.ulp  inoplace.ulp .....

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Richard

I am setting up a multilayer board and I'm a bit confused.

I would like to set up four layers.

    Top wil be signal

    Second will be signal

    Third will be power

    Fourth will be ground.

I would like to set it up so that I can have blind vias from the top and second  layers to any of the other layers. (and each other)

I am having trouble understanding the syntax to set up the layers and the blind and buried vias.

Also, depending on the way I describe the layers and connections, the vias either go to the top of a layer or they seem to go through to  the other  side of the layer.   I am not sure of the significance of this.    Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Joe A.

    Hi Joe,

as far as I understand you would like top have something like this:

    [2:(1+(2*15)+16):15]

    So you have vias from 1-2, 2-15, 15-16, 1-16.

    Regards,

    Richard
