Solder mask thickness

Hello,

we actual have a problem with a product, because the solder mask of the PCB has higher thickness then the copper. Now I'm looking for rules or standards describing this. Where can I find this?

best would be to talk to your board manufacturer.

Hi Richard,

thank you for your answer, but I cant ask my board manufacturer since he would say that everything is OK!

But I found the applicable standard: IPC-SM-840D "Qualification and Performance Specification of Permanent Solder Mask".
