Schematic from board layout?

I've accidentally deleted folder with files of project that i'm working on.. I've managed to recover .brd file, but I cannot recover .sch one.

 

Is there any way to get schematic from board layout? I've been lurking around, but still nothing..

 

Drawing whole schematic again is probably last option, since it isn't quite simple..

    I tried to find a way to recover SCH from BRD files, but I failed, I guess the only way is using File Recovery Tools if up to now you have not writen too much data into the drive where you lost your SCH.

    I've tryed many Data Recovery software, but without any luck..

     


    Now one offtopic question

     

    Is there any kind of software like Eagle that i could use for getting schematic from board?

     

    I'ts more easy to me to redraw board layout with components to <other> software than extracting schematic from board.

     

    I've made this in Eagle, but no luck with schematic..

     

    Eagle is GREAT program, and I've learned how to use it, and i will continue to use it, but if I must use another software to do this, I will..

    Ivan,

     

    it's not so easy to generate a schematic from a board. In the board file we have, for exampl, only infomration about the package but about the device. In some cases you draw conclusions from the value of the component which device it was.

    So what you could do is:

     

    - Export a partlist from the board to get information about the parts (name, value, package, library)

    - Create a new schematic

    - Place the devices, name them and set the value the same as it is in the board

    - Generate a netlist from the board with EXPORT NETLIST

    - Now convert the netlist with the help of cmd-netlist2sch.ulp into a script file that can be

      imported into the schemtic with the SCRIPT command. This script draws direct net connections

      between the pins of the components

    - Next step is to arrange the nets in a way that the schematic gets nice and readable
