Thanks for the information. But we require 14 bit ADC for our application. Please suggest a correct part of PSoC and the development kit associated with it.

    Hello,

I have received samples of part CY8C28645 from Cypress. Its smd quad pack. how do i program the device. Is there programmer board design for the same. Please help.

There are two methods to program the device:

1.On board program and debug: assemble the device on your PCB and you can program or debug it through ICE debugger.

    2. You need an adapter which can change package from QFN to DIP

I am going for the second method. i.e. using an adapter to convert QFN to DIP. What are the points to be taken care while doing this ? I am using PSoC part no. CY8C28645-24LTXI in my design. Its a 48 pin QFN package. I have planned to get design a PCB with footprint of QFN package and taking the leads through the connectors for programming and other interface. Is any current limiting resistors or capacitors required while connecting the programmer to the respective pins. I am using Miniprog3 as my device programmer. please help.??!!

The soulution that you plan to design is the first method. I will attach a PDF file to help you design a PSoC system.

By the way, I can not confirm how the Miniprog 3 connect your target board because i can not get any detailed information of it, and which conntetor used .

Maybe, you want to have a look on Cypress website at:

Thanks for the information. I have designed a board (Target board) which includes PSoC (CY8C28645-24LTXI) IC with a programming header, I/O interface header and power unit. I am using Miniprog3 for programming my device. I am programming my device in Power ON mode. After programming i am going to use my device for my application. I will be giving power to my board externally. My question is do i have to provide an external clock source also?? Or does part no. CY8C28645-24LTXI has internal clocking unit in it??

There are some description on page 1 of Cy2C8xxx datasheet,it describes as below:

    • Precision, Programmable Clocking
Internal ±2.5% 24/48 MHz Main Oscillator
Optional 32.768 kHz Crystal for Precise On-Chip Clocks
Optional External Oscillator, up to 24 MHz
Internal Low Speed, Low Power Oscillator for Watchdog and
      Sleep Functionality

It shows us that PSoC has internal clock, there is no need to provide the external clock source for PSoC.
