Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?
The forum at the maker's site is currently out of service due to high volume, but I remember there being talk about a case being at least in the design stage. They are also working on expensions, so who knows what's really in store?
That's a good question also I think a great business opportunity for those with laser cutters or 3d printers like hackerspaces. I would definately pay some money for a nice case/enclosure.
Looks like there's already a few designs on Thingiverse:
Drew,
Thanks for the link. I can use board model there to design a case.
So far, the ones I have seen are not exactly blowing my hair back.
I plan on designing something smaller and more rugged. Too back the board does not have any mounting holes. Just one would have helped.

Take a look at the Raspberry Pi orgs forum when it comes back up. There is a long thread about user designed cases, even one that is made from Lego bricks complete with a bill of materials.
I have put a RepRap design on thingiverse : http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16104
Also put a version on shapeways. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/picase
I have 4 versions there.
With 1mm walls - open bottom and closed bottom
With 1.4mm walls - open bottom and closed bottom
I would advise the 1.4mm walls version, because it is much much stronger. Bad side it is a bit more expensive because it uses more material
There is a big difference between a RepRap version and the one on shapeways.
For RepRap printing everything needs to be supported, so there is a strange case split needed to get this working.
The 2 case halfs stick together by friction....
Downside of Shapeway is the price... but it is very very well made, very fine detail and the 2 halfs click together.
This weekend I will put up a version with an open top and possible an open bottom with 1.4mm walls, but with room to put a transparent perspex sheet (5x8 cm) instead. So that will save a lot of material costs.
Case will be supplied when it ships. It will apparently be transparent. I like the idea of this.
I would like to see a few case options:
1) Simple case to put thing in and expose sockets
2) A bigger case that could hold a 2.5 drive that could be connected via usb.
3) a PC type case so you can add CD rom, 2.5 Drive, have additional USB sockets, power switch, etc. Think Blu-ray player sized.
4) What about a case thats a keyboard? That the thing can slide into and make into the good old 80's type home computer. With all the connection on the back and usb ports etc..
Hmm,
Methinks that I will be modding a mini pelican personnaly.
