Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?
Come on guys, use your imaginations. I think that my first Pi will either be mounted on some sort of breadboard with a transparent plastic lid cover of some sort, or built into an old PC case, along with various recycled peripherals (Hard drive, DVD RW drive etc) and the necessary power supplies - it will still be mostly empty of course. At some stage though, I 'll probably build a Pi into something less obvious - I'm thinking of maybe using a baked-bean can, with the base removed (and the beans eaten...). If I can make a new base which is a snug fit, and a couple of inches deep, I can arrange for the can to slide up and down on it - hiding ports etc embedded in the sides of the base while it isn't in use. Another idea I had was to build one into a hollowed-out book, but I think that it might tend to get rather hot.
Rather hot? I was lucky enough to get my hands on one on Thursday - quite literally! Although it had been running all day, the CPU was only warm to the touch, so a hollowed out book might be okay with a ventiliation hole or two.
And having touched it, they wouldn't let me take it away! (Pete Lomas told me that he hasn't been able to order one either!)
