I like it. What do you have in mind for ventilation? I like the idea of side-vents, similar to the Seagate Dockstar. I suggested it to Marco, and hopefully he'll take it into consideration. The only issue I'd see with that type of ventilation would be weak joints between the top and bottom of the case, though you could easily adjust where the two parts join and place vents in the four corners on each side. You could also do "scoop" style vents at the top (recessed in and at an angle. Would look nice and should provide adequate passive cooling when the SoC is coupled with soft heatsink.
Keep up the good work. Would like to see a 3d-printed model.
