I see earlier in this thread that Bud Industries is working on a case. I have used a ton of their products at work to house electronics for use in computer controlled test sets on optoelectronic manufacturing production lines, and I must say that they are of very good quality. If it isn't too expensive I will definitely be getting one.

I know that this will affect the size, and you can't accommodate everything (maybe you could have an alternate version), but another thing to keep in mind along with different variations of the device as you have mentioned, is to leave room for the addition of expansion boards or maybe even a battery holder (since it is apparently capable of running on batteries), etc.
