Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?
We've finished the initial production run of the ModMyPi cases, and we're currently working through our pre-orders. They will be available for immediate dispatch in around 2 - 3 weeks from the ModMyPi website.
Cases are injection moulded and available in five colours which can be mixed and matched.
Loads more pictures available from the ModMyPi facebook
So far one of the best looking I've seen. I agree with Morgaine, transparent is a must !!! I'll wait for it.
Do you have some pictures showing how the board fits inside ?
The only few I found on your FB pages are with the prototypes.
Do you have light pipes for the LEDs ? or their light just mixed in the air.

The tabs and slots hold it together fairly snugly. I don't have a PI yet, so that's why there is a board in the case. I cut it to the same dimensions of the real thing. The grooves in the side pieces hold the PI securely. With the top and bottom piecs on, the support is even stronger. Here is a test.
The bottom photo is without the top and bottom covers in place. It is quite sturdy. Lexan is an amazing product. I don't know if it is worth investigating a rear cover to protect the SD card. I am routing these so it would be a major consideration to add a snap in cover..
This is the first case I have tried to make for anything. It is quite a learning curve with lots of adjusting after some not so good ideas. It would be a heck of a lot easier with a PI in hand.
I took pictures of an earlier version with PI installed. This PI is owned by af friend who let me make some measurements to design the case. I am still without PI. It looks like it will be in the future a ways before I can tweek the case for a perfect fit. Here's a few photos of Chuck's PI in the case.
The price I was figuring was....Zero. I was planning to upload the STL file when I received my PIs and made some final adjustments. If people want, I will upload the STL file as it is now.
The price is whatever you spend on getting the case made.
The holes in the case for venting the heat was in the future plans. Chuck has told me that heating is not an issue so far. Holes underneath would probably do no good as the PI sits in a groove on the inner perimeter of the sides. The air flow from bottom to top is pretty well blocked. As far as putting them in the top cover, that is the plan.
The top and bottom covers snap off and are easily replaceable and engraveable in case you want to do something like a "Chuck's PI" design. You could have a different cover design as your mood suits.
