Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a case for the Model B?

There is a place taking pre-orders now.  Their name is ModMyPi.  You should be able to use a serch engine to get to their site.  It is available in color choices or mix and match.

The concern I see with the ModMiPi case is it does not allow for any shifting of the components on the board.  Could be an issue moving forward.

I was wondering if the Pi can be used with it simply standing on the anti-static bag in which it was packed .

This is not really advisable, as the outside of an anti-static bag is NOT actually anti-static!

You would actually be better off placing it on a piece of cardboard, or buying one of these fairly cheap so called 'cases' which are basically two pieces of 'perspex' held apart with some spacing screws.

There is probably a bit more to it than that, but you get the idea!

Thanks for the information.  Then if the anti-static bag was turned inside out and used to cover the cardboard on which the Raspberry Pi is placed, this would give it protection from ESD.  Is that a good or acceptable result?

It would be most appreciated and helpful if you would kindly advise further regarding protection from ESD with the acrylic or plastic commercially available cases.

Thanks for your most kind help.

    Hi

Just an idea for a cheap case until something good comes along. Looks like it will fit with a little dremmel work.

Still waiting for my Pi to arrive to confirm

I ordered my case (clear plastic) from SK Pang Eletronics, UK. My Pi arrived yesterday and fit perfectly.! His website has several nice looking choices.
