My RPi does not start up!!

I tried 2 different OS on my Rpi model B but it doesn't start up properly, it loads for 5 seconds then suddenly shuts down, whats that all about? Please help thanks.

First off, which two OSes are you trying, how are you writing them to the SD card, and what is the voltage of your PSU? (Edit: Also what periphals do you have attached, i.e. HDMI, composite, Ethernet, USB. And what happens to the LEDs when your pi turns off?)

Secondly, have you asked in the raspberry pi forums? They're fairly good with answering these kind of questions.
