1080p on 23 inch monitor but text is blurry

Dear raspberry pi gurus, recently I have just purchased a spanking new raspberry pi. I am tried to set the resolution to full hd which is 1080p 60 Hz. The config.txt that I had enabled was:

hdmi_drive = 2

hdmi_group = 1

hdmi_mode = 16 (1080p 60Hz)

hdmi_boost = 4

disable_overscan = 1

The monitor that I am using is 23 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM. The pi is connected via HDMI to VGA converter (PI-VIEW) sold by element14. I have a steady 5V 1 amp PSU and I don't believe that the PSU is problematic.

I did the /opt/vc/bin/tvservice -s and it shows that my current resolution is 1920x1080, progressive. The only issue that I had is that the texts are blurry. Its kinda hard to read them, and is there any idea on how to make them sharp? I mean when I connect my PC via VGA mode, it still looks sharp on 1920x1080p. Please advice thank you

    Are you trying to view text in a CLI (command-line interface) or in a TUI (text-user interface) within a GUI (graphical-user interface)?

    I have a China-made Xenon 22-inch HDTV. Text in a TUI within a GUI is blurry unless I stand in front of it (using Arch Linux ARM). Text in the CLI, full HD screen, show OK but only at the highest resolution of my HDTV.

    If you're trying to view text in a terminal box within a GUI, try adding some TTFs (truetype fonts). I recommend installing and using ttf-mscorefonts-installer because you can set your terminal fonts to something easier to read. For example, you can change the fonts of the terminal to your own tastes, and then, the text is readable.

    You may be using raster fonts instead of truetype fonts. Hopefully, this helps you out. :-)
