I recently purchase a PiFace Digital board and attached it directly to my Raspberry Pi. I then brought up the simulator and was able
to use it to cause the LEDs on the Digital board to light up when selected. I then connected the same board to the Pi using the Piface
Rack board. I checked the address pins on the digital board and as expected they were set to Address Board Number 0.
When I then brought up the simulator via the pifacedigital-emulator command it first responded with the error message "No PiFace
Digital Detected, Running without PiFace Digital". Also the "View" option which is supposed to allow you to select the board you
want to work on, is NOT even displayed. Since I was not sure if it expected Board 0 to be connected in the slot closest to the Pi or it
doesn't care which slot it is in, I tried with the board in both slots and with the external power connected and not connected. In every
case I received the same error message and was unable to use the simulator to control the Digital Board.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone has any idea what I may be doing wrong.
Thanks
Gerald Hoffman
