fifih77 over 11 years ago

Bonjour ,

J ai acheté chez SainSmart  :

http://www.sainsmart.com/sainsmart-3-2-tft-lcd-module-320-240-touch-screen-display-for-raspberry-pi.html

Je n arrive pas a le faire fonctionne .

J ai déjà essayé plusieurs type de driver en vain , l'ecran reste toujours blanc.

sur https://github.com/notro/wiki

je n'arrive pas a trouver lequel choisir .

Merci

I hope that you'll be able to read my English as I'm able to read (but not write) your French.

If you buy something from someone for a specific purpose, like this "display-for-raspberry-pi", you can ask your vendor for help. As this display connects over the SPI bus, a standard raspberry pi will not output its screen to this display.

There's a driver supplied on that page ...not tried it of course but worth a look at.

I find Sainsmart stuff OK if you already have something that is working often the software they supply is out of date or incomplete.

There is a generic framebuffer to SPI code floating on the web you may need to use that to start the LCD.

Also if you do not put the driver into the initrd or a bit further in the initialization you will not see anything on the LCD until you do so.

The default device will still be the HDMI or composite until you change this also!

To add to what John said here are a couple of links that may have more detail on enabling the driver

    http://www.valdodov.com/index.php?show=hardware&item=1

    http://ozzmaker.com/2013/05/23/raspberry-pi-with-a-3-2-tft-with-touch-control

I realize these are not direct instructions, but they may contain enough information to get you going.

BTW, that is pretty inexpensive, and since I have actually looked into this before, I ordered one. If you don't have an answer in a week or two, I may be able to provide one.

OK. Sorry it took a little bit longer than two weeks to get around to this, but this worked for me, I have the display working, but I haven't toyed with the touchscreen, yet.

Boot into your normal rasbian image

    type

    sudo REPO_URI=https://github.com/notro/rpi-firmware BRANCH=master rpi-update

    sudo reboot

    After the system reboots, type

    sudo modprobe fbtft_device custom name=fb_ili9341 gpios=reset:27,dc:22,led:18 speed=16000000 rotate=90 bgr=1

it may or may not enable the console on the display, but the important bit is, after that, type:

    FRAMEBUFFER=/dev/fb1 startx

That got an X display on the screen for me.

    Good luck,

    Mike

I was able to plugin my logitech wireless mouse/keyboard and use the display. Seemed a little slow, but it functioned.

Still have to get around to the touch screen.

Here is the link for the original manufacturer's page 3.2 inch touch screen LCD for Raspberry Pi

That at least has the pinout.

Thanks for all the work on this Mike, I am still in the market for a master LINUX based controller for my PSU project, this may yet work out to be a good choice

would need a touch screen / touch keyboard though, I am watching in anticipation image

One of those Router modules might be good for that task Peter as they are cheap and have a level of I/O built in !
