Raspberry Pi 2 Wifi Adapter USB

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

Hi,

I'm new in Raspberry Pi. I bought a USB Wifi adapter, and I can't do it works.

I plug it on raspberry pi 2, and this detected the new hardware (with command lsusb the adapter appears in the list).

I checked if the chipset are in the list of compatible, but it isn't compatible, but the raspberry can detect it.

Any solution?

Thanks.

    Hello hlastras,

I have no idea which USB WiFi adapter you've got, but you said it's listed under lsusb, so that's a start.

If it's also listed under 'iwconfig' and/or 'ifconfig' then it has loaded the driver for it and you're ready to follow the steps here:

    https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/

There's instructions for connecting via the command line at the bottom.

If your device isn't listed under iwconfig or ifconfig, then you'll have to past here what your device identifies as (the full line) from lsusb and we can attempt to identify what driver it should be using - but you may have to recompile it which can take a long time.

    Hope this helps.
