Computer vision project with OpenCV in Raspberry Pi 3

I'm thinking about starting a project that focuses on computer vision using opencv. Main objective will be identifying moving objects and making some decisions. Anyone here got experience in using Opencv with Camera module 2.0 with raspberry pi 3 B? If so, is the processing power enough to handle this video processing part?

    I have used OpenCV in my [Pi IoT] Plant Health Camera #11 - Summary design challenge project.

    Information about installing OpenCV:  [Pi IoT] Plant Health Camera #5 - OpenCV

    I used the translation function to allign images ([Pi IoT] Plant Health Camera #8 - Aligning the images) which for the more complex models like Afine and Homography was a bit time consuming. I didn't test those an a real PC to compare with.
