booting

i purchased raspberry pi3 .i setup as mentioned in the startup guide ,but only red light glows , it is not booting .pls help

I had this exact same issue. I struggled for hours.

I resolved it by just making sure that the boot image on the quality HSSD Class 10 SD-Card was written correctly
and that the downloaded image was also cerrectly downloaded without issues.

Re-booted and it worked like a charm afterwards.

Just retry all of this from scratch.

Connect the raspberry pi to HDMI monitor and see if it is struck at some error

The first time I connected the RPI to the monitor,It displayed an input
error because I did not have a keyboard and a mouse. Second time ,even
though it had all the necessary conditions the green light was not visible.

This has happened a few times to me, and I've traced it down to the SD card every time. Once, I changed the SD card completely, but mostly I just either eject/reinsert, or in some cases, completely wipe the card and reinstall NOOBS, or whatever system I want. This also happened on my media center, and when the red light was on, there was no HDMI output. Check the card; eject/reinsert, step two reinstall, step three change the card.

This is exactly what I said in the first place.
1. Just get a decent Class 10 SD-Card;
2. Download the boot image;
3. Burn the boot image to the SD-Card;
4. Insert SD Card properly into RPi3
5. Connect power;
6. Boom!!! It will boot properly.

Works every time for me.

Raspbian does not show an error if there is no keyboard or mouse, Windows may but not Raspbian, it expects this to be a common and normal thing.

Are you sure it was not due to something else ?
