Professional and Industrial Users of Raspberry Pi

Hi all!

I would love to hear your thoughts on using the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ in Professional and Industrial Use Cases.

The New Raspberry Pi 3 B+ has been intentionally built to make it easier/less expensive to be signed off with simplified Radio Module Conformity and the new PoE hat on its way, allowing for headless operation, Power over Ethernet and, Boot over ether net.

Do you use your Raspberry Pi in an industrial use (IIoT)?

Have you built the Raspberry Pi into a product? Was it easy to do?

What are your thoughts on Raspberry Pi's efforts to reduce time and money making the RF area meet Modular certification?

If you have not? What is deterring you?

New RF  Conformity documentation:

Interview with Ben and Roger

Discussing the new board and benefits of the RF module and PoE.

Eben Upton and Roger Thornton Interview: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+

PoE Hat (Pre-order available now):

Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Plus (B+) PoE (Power Over Ethernet) Hat

The official Power over Ethernet (PoE) add-on board for the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+! Use this HAT to power a Raspberry Pi via an Ethernet cable, removing the need for a separate power supply, an ideal solution for embedded and IoT projects. For Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ and onwards, an 802.3af compliant POE injector, switch, or router device is required (not included).

  • Power over Ethernet 802.3af compliant
  • Power over Ethernet Boot (PXE Boot)
  • Class 2 device
  • Fully isolate Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS)
  • 36-56V Input Voltage
  • 5V Output Voltage
  • Supplies up to 2.5A
  • Fan Control
  • Plug-and-play compatibility with Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+

Best of all, it fits within the official Raspberry Pi Case!

    Hi Phil,

we, at PONF GmbH, are developing the PONF Multiback Open Camera: a camera that shoots digital and film - www.ponfcamera.com

The camera has interchangeable backs:one for film, one for digital.

The digital back is based on Raspberri PI 3, we are testing it with the Compute Module and now with the 3 B+. We use Sony full frame (36 and 24 MP) or APS-C (24 MP) sensors as image sensors.

We are in our early prototyping phase, and it's always interesting seeing advancements in the board !

As the project is an Open Source one, it would be interesting having some feedback and cooperation in the development.
