Imho I think the item itself is ideal for what i want - ie a blank canvas to make what you can of it (of course we do need the tech specs to be of a professional quality) - well done folks for providing us with such a fantastic piece of circuitry!

    Hi John

Raspberry Pi schematics are available from http://www.raspberrypi.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Raspberry-Pi-Schematics-R1.0.pdf

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a charity, not a commercial business. It is anticipated that when the cased, education version is available, the drivers for the CSI and DSI will also be available.

    Regards

After all the hype, the delays in obtaining a sample I now find that the support in terms of documentation lacks, quality, quantity and is presented in an ad hoc way with no discernible order. Had I known that this item was to be supplied in this way without adequate support I would have given it a miss especially as I am getting the feeling that it will not be suitable for supporting a full HD (1920x1080px30fps) digital image sensor.

The Raspberry Pi uses Broadcom BCM2835 SoC. It is not as well supported as the Beagle Board, i.e. there is no information about the ISP (Image Signal Processor), schematics are not provided etc. The Raspberry Pi (model B) does have a 15-pin MIPI Camera interface (CSI) connector, that appears to be unsupported, although I hear that the foundation is planning to release a camera module for it, sometime in the near future. Shame their is no documentation covering this as I, for one, have quite a number of sensors and imaging SOC's that I should like to experiment with.

    http://www.raspberrypi.org/forum/features-and-requests/camera-for-the-csi-2-port

Perhaps I should have spent the money and gone the BeagleBoard route?

N.B. The BeagleBone is based on AM3359 (Sitara) platform but does not contain an ISP (Image Signal Processor) so is also unsuitable for this particular

    application
