Table of contents

Note: This is not a standard roadtest. It is part of a program sponsored by AMD-Xilinx called 7 Ways to Leave Your Spartan-6 FPGA. Applying for this roadtest enrolls you into this program and gives you the chance to obtain the ARTY S7 board for the point-earning activities.

About 7 Ways to Leave Your Spartan-6 FPGA
7 Ways to Leave your Spartan-6 is an element14 community program run in conjunction with AMD-Xilinx to teach you about the migration from the Spartan-6 to the Spartan-7 FPGAs.

The AMD-Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA family was introduced in 2009. With current parts shortages, designers are learning how to migrate their designs to the newer Spartan-7 FPGA. element14 is inviting you to participate in this fun activity, where you can win great prizes by putting a twist on an old song with element14’s 7 Ways to Leave Your Spartan-6. To learn more about this program, go here.

How To Play
You have to play to win, and in the process, you'll learn about the Spartan-7 FPGA family. Every two weeks, element14 will go live with a new activity that will help you better understand the Spartan-6 to Spartan-7 FPGA migration. Our judges will award you points for every activity you do. At the end of the program, element14 will tally up the points, and the top point-getters will win some great prizes.

How To Receive An Arty S7
Some of the activities below require a dev board. We have 25 boards to give away for this activity. To get a board, please click the orange ENROLL NOW button and complete a short application form. The best applicants will be shipped a free board.

element14 has only 25 boards to give out. If you don't get a free board, you can still join this competition, but you would need to get a board.

  • What a great Roadtest!

By which date (tentatively) will we get to know if we are selected to receive the hardware or not?

  • Sorry, we're currently unable to distribute any products to Russia at this time.

  • Am I correct that there are no chance for Russia based FPGA enthusiasts to enroll this competition? Disappointed
