Tough call, so let's look at the con side from my side. Tablets ( except some Apple) don't have cellular data, can be ' off balance ' from the difference between battery and board driving the screen ( eBay A23 tablets anyone?). I have had issues with the power button getting crushed and not working ( heat/replace fix).
Cell phones have lower battery life, smaller screens, ' issues ' reading and writing to NTFS USB drives.
Now the things that I like on both, Bluetooth standard. Screen rotation already turned on. USB master mode ( can plug in thumb drive) and some utilities in the appropriate app store ( FREE ) for all kinds of mischief.
The real question is, what do you want it to be doing for you?
