Election 2016 - The day after... your thoughts?

Four years ago, I wrote a comparison of Obama and Romney - who would be better for the engineering world. The results were pretty clear.

 

I didn't do that this year, figuring we were done with the stagnation of pre 2008. And in 2012, I thought there was a plan for rapid recovery in the engineering job market. Employment rates are great, improving every day.

We were moving on. The results ended up a lot different than I imagined.

 

I couldn't do any research on the "plans" of the candidates anyway. So, now it is a wait an tell if we continue the recovery.

 

What are your thoughts? Are engineers poised for continued growth in the job market, or back to pre-2008 level?

    I think the same, Yunus.

     

    in our types of mature democracies, where power swings between parties over time based on people voting,

    the influence of politics at power at a particular time is not very impacting.

     

    Real things happening in the world, and the global changes, drive the agenda. Politics follow, I think.

    so impact of candidate A or B winning on engineering is no more than ripple, I think.
