WiFi SD Card application

Hi,

  • MicroSD Card : This represents a memory card, typically used for storage.
  • SoC (System on a Chip) : This is the central processing unit, the "brain" of the system. It handles data processing and communication between different components.
  • WiFi: This represents the WiFi module, responsible for wireless internet connectivity.
  • SD Host (PC): This represents the host device, likely a personal computer, which interacts with the system.
  • WiFi/BT ANT : This represents the antenna for both WiFi and Bluetooth communication.

SoC acts as a central hub, facilitating communication between the MicroSD Card, the WiFi module, and the SD Host (PC).

  • Data can be transferred between the MicroSD Card and the SoC using the storage protocol.
  • The SoC can communicate with the WiFi module using the communication protocol, enabling wireless internet access.
  • The SoC can also communicate with the SD Host (PC) using some protocol, allowing data transfer between the computer and the device.

What is the best suited Lattice FPGA and IP cores for this application?

Thanks.

Your question can't be answered without you providing a lot more information.

Lattice make many different FPGAs and the choice will not be simple.

It is far from clear why you want to use an FPGA at all - it would be much easier to implement the system your outline using  a micro controller.

The first things you need to define are:

What is the intended use for this system (this will help define how robust and reliable it must be).

How many will be made (this will define the balance between parts cost and development cost)

How much data processing is required.

Are there any power or environmental constraints.

Have you any experience of developing with Lattice FPGAs and if so which family.

The more detail you provide at this stage the better your design decisions will be.
