Hardware Manager unconnected. Autoconnect crashes

Hi all,

i am able to run linux images on the K24 SoM board via SD card image.

However i cant access the board via JTAG. Open Hardware doesnt detect it.

I have run "install" scripts in /xicom. Other Xilinx FPGAs (e.g. Zybo) are immediately detectable.

Do i have to install any special drivers ?

Thanks

The JTAG interface uses an FTDI chip. Have you that driver installed?

sam_jones If your cable is communicating enough to run the install scripts, you don't need a different cable. If the cable communicates on a different system, you don't need a different cable. If you're…

This did the trick for me . I thought that was only meant for Windows platforms. Btw. while running ftdi_program , i encountered some missing *.so error. Find more details on the link below on how to resolve…

I have only used KV260 boards and those didn't require any special driver. So I would expect the same here. It doesn't appear like a cable problem.

    A couple of questions:

    1. It might be good to check the default boot mode for the board. Have you tried setting the boot mode to JTAG? I remember we can do it using some tcl scripts.

    2. Which version of Vivado and Petalinux tools are you using to build your custom image ? What are the version of the tools with which the SD card image was built?

    3. The reason for the above is to check if the K24 SOM  is compatible with your version of Vivado tools

Hardware manager can behave strange some times when you swapping between a K24 (Zynq US+) and Zybo (Zynq). I have had instances where it holds the state of the device even after disconnecting it and connecting it to a new device. So the hardware manager task needs to be removed cleanly from from the task list or a restarted. A cold restart might make a difference.
